Welcome to BeanPod House Concerts
What we are about:
The seed for BeanPod House Concerts was planted back in 2010 when we attended a local gig down at the local bar that turned out to be a total waste of time and money. The establishment sold it as a small, close-up, meet and greet show! Sounds exciting doesn't it? As you can guess, there was about 25ppl and we were crunched into a smaller area close to the band which would have been OK if it wasn't for the larger/louder bar crowd behind us and cloud of smoke around us. We have seen the band before and knew the music but not in that kind of atmosphere. That was the last bar gig we attended for the purpose of just listening to the music. That scene might be good for a night out but not if your intentions are to relax, enjoy, and focus on the music. We have musically inclined friends that mentioned to us about how they have played at house jams or house concerts in the area and really enjoyed the close personal interaction. We did the research and found a show 45min from our house. So that's a very brief background of how we got pointed in this direction.
BeanPod House Concerts are designed to be not just a celebration of great music, but an experience with our musical guests at our home, shared with our family & friends. Connect with us on FACEBOOK

What is a House Concert:
A house concert is a chance to experience live music in a warm and intimate environment. It's when someone opens up their home and invites a small group of people into their living room to share in a performance by one of their favorite musicians. It's a chance to meet the performers and get them to sign and personalize their CD. A house concert is also a great social evening with friends and neighbors. Some house concert series across the country are held in backyards as well, and during the summer months, that's exactly what we would like to do! But the rest of the year, we would like to keep ours either in the Sunroom or in the living room for the added sense of warmth and intimacy that it lends to the evenings. We also host concerts all year long -- between ten and twelve each year. Some other house concert series are seasonal.
How much does this cost me?
We generally have a "voluntary suggested donation" of $15 per person at most of our House Concerts. Some concerts might be a little more, some might be less. The reason we call it a "voluntary suggested donation" is that we are not a business. This is our home. We can't really call it an "admission fee". Turning this into a business would create all sorts of extra work and expense on our part. We are simply having a gathering! However, our "voluntary suggested donation" is still as close to being mandatory as we can make it. Without the money, we could not get the caliber of musicians that we are looking for and love to hear. We work on the honor system and need everyone's participation to keep our series going. We find that nearly everyone puts in the suggested amount and some people even put in a little extra. Remember 100% of the donations go directly to the performers.
Yes we are a house concert in a PRIVATE RESIDENCE. These parties are NOT A BUSINESS nor a BUSINESS RELATED ACTIVITY. Officially, attendence is FREE although voluntary contributions (suggested donation) are accepted at the party on behalf of the artists. 100% of all contributions go directly to the performers. These parties are "by invitation only."
